Culturally Responsive Teaching

We work with teachers to build the skills and awareness related to issues of culture, language, race, and ethnicity, also known as cultural competencies. With the necessary cultural competencies, teachers can meet the needs of diverse learners by using the strategies of culturally responsive instruction, which builds on students' cultural knowledge to enhance academic success.

Alliance staff use a set of protocols and tools to engage educators in a cohesive series of professional learning activities. These are designed to improve their knowledge area skills in delivering culturally responsive teaching.
