Professional Learning Communities

It is well known that effective school practices and instruction can be the result of effective professional learning communities. Such communities can be teaching teams, wherein core academic teachers may share a group of common students, using common planning time to diagnose student work and analyze teacher assignments, design and evaluate curriculum and instruction, and continuously monitor student achievement. At the school level, professional learning communities can include school improvement teams, the development of theme- and/or career-based Academies, and interdisciplinary teaching teams. We help to build such communities with a focus on clarity of purpose, professional communication, and ongoing monitoring of outcomes, essential for the continual and sustainable development of effective teaching practices.
