The 22nd Annual Northeast Superintendents' Leadership Institute held
The 22nd Annual Northeast Superintendents' Leadership Institute was held at the Marriott Hotel in Newport, Rhode Island on April 28–30, 2010. The focus of this year's Institute was "District Leadership Strategies for Improving Teaching and Learning." We are extremely pleased that Dr. Richard Lemons and Dr. Robert Villanova, both of whom received outstanding evaluations from last year's Institute, were able to join us again. In addition, Dr. Eileen Howley joined the team as one of our presenters.
This year's Institute began on the evening of Wednesday, April 28th with a wine and cheese reception. After dinner, Bob Villanova presented an overview of the program and the framework for the following days' discussions. On Thursday, Richard Lemons and Bob Villanova offered a series of hands on, interactive activities that applied directly to superintendent leadership strategies. There were also four informal, special interest sessions on Thursday afternoon. Friday's program began with a state breakfast meeting and concluded with wrap-up activities by our presenters.
