Project Summary

New England Comprehensive Center (NECC)

The New England Comprehensive Center (NECC) is one of 16 regional comprehensive centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education to support state education agencies in fulfilling the promises of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. Headquartered at RMC Research Corporation of Portsmouth, NH, NECC is a partnership that includes the Alliance, Education Development Center, and Learning Innovations at WestEd.

As a partner in the Comprehensive Center work, we work with the senior management and individual state teams to provide research and technical assistance to the initiatives requested by the states. We provide technical assistance in adolescent literacy and English language learners, serve as part of the state service teams, and serve as a liaison to the five national Content Centers. The Alliance designed, developed, hosts and maintains the NECC Web site, and is also implementing an online collaboration site to support selected work with state education agencies.
