3 R's Educational Leadership Project: Evaluation

The Foundation for Educational Administration (FEA) in partnership with the New Jersey Principals and Supervisors Association contracted with The Education Alliance to conduct an evaluation of the 3 R's Educational Leadership Project.

This project was developed by the FEA to enhance and support educational leadership in New Jersey by improving recruitment, preparation of new school leaders, induction, and continuing leadership development.

The evaluation focused on four project strands: policy reform; program quality; program impact; and, significance. The evaluation gathered systematic interview and focus group data to determine level of program and participant satisfaction, effectiveness of recruitment and preparation strategies, preliminary evidence of program impact, and professional development activities in the three target school districts (Elizabeth, Jersey City, and New Brunswick). Documents were reviewed to determine alignment of program goals and objectives with curricular and field-based activities, and to better understand the relationship between statewide policy changes and program development.
