Kathleen Bridgewater
Kathleen Bridgewater has studied in Boston, earning her B.S.Ed. at Wheelock College and her M.Ed. at Boston University. She has taught in the Boston area and also in the City of Light, at the American School of Paris. She now teaches fifth and sixth grades in rural Erving, where the nearest skyscraper is the University of Massachusetts Library, ten miles away. Whether there are pigeons or wild turkeys cooing outside the classroom windows, Kathleen's main educational interest is in creating intellectually challenging, historically-rich curricular experiences that firmly establish her students' kinship to the rest of humanity. She has integrated technology into her teaching for many years and has given workshops on practices she has found to be particularly useful.
Kathleen is the mother of two college students. For fun she reads, gardens, travels, and sings. She has sung with the Pioneer Valley Orchestra Chorus, Valley Light Opera, and the Brattleboro Opera Workshop.
