Instructional Conversations and Their Classroom Application

In a descriptive study, Goldberg (1991) illustrates a discussion-based approach that supports ELL's conceptual and linguistic development. The "instructional conversations" provide ELLs with opportunities to engage in interactions that promote analysis, reflection, and critical thinking.
